SERP features

SERP features are the non-standard elements on a search results page beyond the plain blue links — featured snippets, People Also Ask, image and video packs, the local pack, knowledge panels, and AI Overviews.

Also searched as: rich results, featured snippet, people also ask.

Each feature is a separate opportunity (or threat): owning a featured snippet can lift clicks, while an AI Overview or knowledge panel can absorb them. Tracking which features a query triggers — and who occupies them — is as important as tracking the ordinal rank.

Structured data helps you qualify for some features (Breadcrumb, Product, Review, Article still earn rich results), though note that FAQ and HowTo rich results have been deprecated by Google. An SEO agent reads which features each target query triggers and who holds them.
