MCP (for marketers)
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT securely connect to outside tools and live data. For a marketer, it is simply the one-time setup that gives your assistant real marketing data to work with.

You do not need to understand the protocol to use it. In practice, connecting an MCP server is like adding an integration: you paste one server address into Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex, sign in once, and from then on the assistant can pull live public data — SERPs, social posts, AI-citation checks — into your conversation.
The payoff is that you keep working in the assistant you already pay for, instead of buying yet another dashboard. The agent does the research inside the chat and you can ask follow-up questions, which a static report can't answer.
